Hodgeometer Applications Quality Control Personnel The fastest accurate method of measuring random samples from incoming shipments. QC technicians may easily read the label dimensions to the nearest 1/128" or 1/64". Time saved allows for larger sampling, increasing confidence in Q.C. inspection results. Lowers fatigue for Quality Control personnel. Quick evaluation of random samples enables the Q.C. dept. to inform Purchasing of the supplier's ability to meet specifications. Feedback of dimensional findings will encourage supplier to improve future performance. Speed - Width of labels can easily be measured at a rate of 15 per minute. Label Producers The setup process for the cutters is faster and more accurate. The gauge will allow your cutting machine operators to periodically check their labels for consistent accuracy. Your Quality Control personnel can use the gage to measure samples to assure uniformity. Labeling Machine If the label machine operator encounters difficulty due to label size variation, down time can be avoided by selective segregation (by size) of bundles of labels. Operator pulls one label from a bundle and, after quickly and easily measuring it, determines if the width is the same or very close to the labels currently running in the machine If the size is the same or very close, the labels are placed in the machine. If the bundle is larger or smaller, set it aside for running with bundles of the same size at a later time. Avoids frequent and unnecessary size adjustments of the labeler Prevents operator frustration The ENTIRE production line will run more efficiently Selective segregation by size takes far less time than shutting down the line for label adjustment. Measuring can easily be accomplished while the labeler is running How to read the gauge Place label on Gauge Read the dimension In this example the width 4 8/64" is read on the gauge The dimension is 4 1/8"
